Does Grow Phone have internet?

Approved apps may use Wi-Fi or mobile data when needed, but normal web browsing is never available on a Grow Phone.

Can I choose which apps are installed?

Yes. You choose your starter apps during setup, and you can request additional approved apps at any time through the Grow Control app.

Can I add or change apps later?

Yes. Active Grow Control members can request new apps or changes at any time. Once a request is approved, it's sent securely to your phone and you'll get a notification to install it.

Can I use mobile hotspot?

Yes. Mobile hotspot can be made available or blocked when your Grow Phone is set up. You'll choose your preference during setup.

What is Grow Control?

Grow Control is $14.99 per month, per device and includes app-change requests, remote configuration, app review, and ongoing support.

Is Grow Control required?

Yes. Grow Control is required for managed Grow Phones and is billed separately at $14.99/month.

Does Grow Phone work for adults?

Yes. Adults can choose a Grow Phone for themselves. You request your own approved apps, and unrestricted web browsing and social media are left out.

Can I use Grow Phone for my child or teen?

Yes. Set your child's Grow Phone up as a child account, and every app they request is held for your approval before our team reviews it.

How do parent app approvals work?

Parents approve or decline their child's app requests at parent.growelectronics.com — no app to download. Sign in with your phone number and a one-time text code, and approve or decline from any phone or computer with a browser.

What happens if I cancel Grow Control?

You can cancel according to the subscription terms shown at checkout. If your membership lapses because of cancellation or a missed payment, you receive a 10-day grace period. During this period, your approved apps continue working normally, but new app requests and Grow Control support are paused. If the membership is not reactivated during the grace period, network access is restricted for all apps except calling and text messaging. Previously approved apps outside those functions stop connecting until Grow Control is reactivated. Your underlying cellular or Wi-Fi service is not canceled, and nothing is deleted from your phone. Once the membership is reactivated, previously approved apps regain access without needing to be reinstalled.

Can every Android app be added?

Not necessarily. App requirements change over time, and some apps may not work perfectly, or at all, with Grow Phone's protections. App availability is subject to Grow approval and device compatibility. If a specific app is essential to you, please contact us before ordering so we can confirm it will work.

Can the phone be factory reset?

Factory reset is blocked while the phone is managed as a Grow Phone.
